Varol Karslioglu Varol started his financial career as Auditor at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC). At PWC, Varol worked particularly in the banking sector including a two-year big project on behalf of the World Bank. He worked later as senior internal auditor at Sabanci Holding, one of the leading industrial groups of Turkey and belonging to Fortune 500. In 1994, he became CFO of Wella Turkey, a subsidiary of German Hair cosmetics Group and now part of Procter and Gamble Group. After Wella, Varol continued his career as financial controller at Monroe, the Turkish Subsidiary of US based Tenneco Automotive, operating worldwide and producing shock absorbers and exhaust systems. Assigned to this job as Financial Controller, shortly after the acquisition of a local company by Tenneco. He joined the OPAL network as a freelance consultant in June 2000 and worked in various consulting projects. As managing director for finance, Varol worked in an acquisition project of a textile company in Germany. In 2005, Varol Karslioglu immigrated to Canada. On behalf of PTC, he worked at projects as financial and business analyst at major Canadian companies like Cadbury, Rogers and Alliance Atlantis. Varol Karslioglu holds a CIA (Certified internal Auditor) designation. He volunteered as the editor of Telve, the monthly newsletter of the Turkish Society of Canada. Varol is a weekly columnist and North American Reporter for Otohaber, Turkey's first weekly car magazine. Varol is also a licensed tour guide of the Niagara Parks Commission and provides guided tours for individuals and groups in the Niagara Region, Ontario, Canada and the United States. Erol Halicilar As another step in his career, he worked as trainer in Turkiye Is Bankasi (Isbank), one of the founding stones of the Turkish economy. In 1990, he became internal auditor of the Holding company of the Sabanci Group, a Fortune 500 member. In 1996, he was promoted to the position of internal audit manager of Temsa, of the group companies of Sabanci. He attended the strategic planning seminar, a joint programme of Marmara University and Michigan State University. Between 1996 and 1998, he continued his career as Internal Audit and Systems Development Manager of the Bayindir Holding. Later, he worked as a consultant to the managing director of Danone Group of Companies. In 2003 he became the internal audit coordinator of Park energy, a company of the Ciner Group. From 2006 to 2009, Erol Halicilar worked as chief financial officer of Filiz Group of Companies owning also the legendary textile company Bossa and Akkardan, one of major automotive suppliers of Turkey.Throughout his professional life, Erol is known for his financial foresight, extensive experience in managerial and statutory accounting and auditing issues, as well as high attention to details. He always finds a way to create an added value for the organizations he worked for. He has advanced German skills and can communicate in English. |
